This last week in ministry I was honored to join Bob and Bonnie Jones as well as John and Brandi Belt in Hamilton, Ohio for a prophetic conference. It was a great time of being renewed and hearing the word of the Lord. I shared on God’s Heart for Israel, Soaking Presence, Signs of the Third Great Awakening, and Apostolic Wineskins for the New Wine. This Wednesday I will be taping 5 TV Shows in Winnipeg, Canada and then ministering at a national Canadian Prayer Conference the rest of the week. Stacey Campbell and others will join me at this strategic national prayer gathering. I hope to see some of you there!

This week I am bringing you a burden for prayer on A Revival of Kindness and Mark Roye is giving us an update on things in the Compassion Acts world. We recently had a great meeting of both our EN Management Team and our CA Leadership Council.

We are also highlighting free messages available through EN Media – relevant messages for our day.  We offer several great videos on demand and MP3 downloads. The following is an excerpt from Chapter 10 of Compassion – A Call to Take Action which was written by Michal Ann and myself.  This is one of the portions I wrote entitled, “It Must Be Personal”. This chapter was the result of an experience I had early one morning when the Holy Spirit opened my ear and whispered to me, “I will have a revival of Kindness.” I remember turning over in bed and sharing it with Michal Ann. Her response, “Well that is what I have been waiting for!” Read this and then let’s pray this into existence in our own neighborhoods, cities, churches and ministries. Ready? Then read and pray on!

A Revival of Kindness
The world needs a revival of kindness today.  Imagine what would happen if God’s people began to use their innate creativity to develop ways to show kindness to others.  Simple acts of kindness, stemming from the love of God, would effect major changes in people’s lives and the ways people respond to one another. Let’s bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit of kindness!

Here are some random acts of kindness that you might want to consider as you go about your daily routine.  You can then move from the natural into the supernatural lifestyle!

• Give an unusually good tip to a server in a restaurant.
• While going through a tollbooth, pay the toll for the driver in the car behind you.
• While in the drive-through line of a fast-food restaurant, pay for the meals that were ordered by the people behind you.
• Give someone a word of encouragement.
• Take time to be a good listener to someone who needs to share his or her circumstances with you.
• Surrender your place in line to someone who seems to be in a hurry, whether in a supermarket, a barbershop, a bank, or elsewhere.
• Ask others if you could pray for them.
• Help an elderly or handicapped person to cross a street.
• Help someone lift a heavy item.
• Leave an anonymous gift on someone’s doorstep.
• Take bags of groceries to a poor family and leave a note that says, “From the Man Upstairs who sees and cares.”
• Invite a stranger to a meal in your home.
• Send cards of encouragement and comfort to the lonely.
• Minister to widows and orphans.  (See James 1:27.)
• Invite people to attend church with you.
• Order dessert for a stranger in a restaurant.
• Distribute Bibles and Christian books to people you encounter in your day-to-day activities.
• Volunteer to help in hospitals, schools, libraries, nursing homes, and other facilities.
•  Make a meal or bake a cake for a neighbor.
• Tell people about the love of Jesus.

All of these “random acts” of kindness are seeds of compassion that will truly make a difference in the lives of others.  Just this week I gave $20 to a homeless man so he would have something to eat. I do not always do this. But I told him about the love of Jesus and to always look up. He took both my money and he received His love! Take a moment now and see if you can come up with ways to express God’s love in personal, practical, and tangible ways.  Find something you can do to bless another.

Compassion Acts  - Love Taking Action

I am so excited about the future of Compassion Acts. The first part of 2010 has been full of love taking action.  We had the Nation Day of Prayer for Cherokee in Oklahoma where we gave food and fed over 200 people.  James Goll and John Mark Rodgers also participated in speaking at the two-day event.  It was an awesome time of seeing people coming together to cry out to God for the Native American people.

Aid for Haiti

Compassion Acts aid relief in Haiti was a huge blessings to people of Haiti. Partnership with other ministries has allowed us to ship in over 3.5 million dollars worth of aid.  We are thankful for all who gave toward helping others.  In a time of disasters the needs are always bigger than one person.  When people come together we can do great things to help others.

Dreamers Park

Another awesome task we had before us was the building of Dreamers Park in memory of Michal Ann Goll.  A team of 15 traveled to Pemba, Mozambique to do the building of the playground on the base of Iris Ministries.  Iris is a ministry lead by Rolland and Heidi Baker, which we have partnered with for years.  It was favorite place for Michal Ann and the ideal place to build Dreamers Park in honor of the life Michal Ann.  In eight days we accomplished the building of the project.  It has been and will be enjoyed for years to come. I have felt that the completion of Dreamers Park was really a finish line that we had to cross.  It was an end of a very demanding and rewarding race. We finished the race and we WON!  Now, I feel that God is given has given us a blank chalkboard to dream again. James was given an awesome statement that I think brings great perspective of where we go.  “Yesterday dreams about your tomorrow, is your today’s opportunity.” 

Moving Forward

I am so excited for what the future holds for Compassion Acts.  A great foundation has been laid for great things that God has for us to do.  As we move forward we will continue to promote the message of compassion taking action.  Below you will find some of the areas of our focus for this next year.

National Day of Prayer for the Cherokee Nation  – In April we again play apart of working with local Native American partners in Oklahoma in this special day of prayer.  We will also be serving a meal and giving away food to Native American families in need.  

Compassion Acts Conference - We will be holding a conference in San Antonio, TX on May 19th-21st. Becoming a Champion of Compassion is the theme of our conference.  Speakers will include James Goll, Patricia King, Doug Stringer, Mark Roye and others.  It will be an empowering time of encouraging each one of us to be a Champion of Compassion! 

Pemba Mozambique Trip – We are so excited to be going back to Pemba to work along side the ministry of Iris Ministries led by Rolland and Heidi Baker.  The dates of the trip are May 24th – June 12th.  On this trip we will be doing various types of work including building a Dreamers Park playground at a new Iris base close to the Pemba base, working with the children on the base, participating in outreaches with Iris teams and serving in the community.  We will need both men and women to go on this trip. We are in the process of putting together the details of the trip. Information, cost and application information will be available soon. Emergency Aid & Feeding Program – One of the areas we love work in is feeding the hungry.  As we have relationship and opportunity we feed thousands of people every year.  It may be here in the states or abroad giving aid in a time of disaster like we did this last year in Haiti.  We were able to send over 3.5 million dollars worth of aid. It could be helping those who have feeding programs in Africa or other parts of the world.  The need is always there and we know that we can make a difference in the world.  I believe that in times of need everyone wants to do something, they are just looking for a vehicle.  Compassion Acts is one of many vehicles that you can trust and partner with to help others.

We have other projects that we are currently working and will be sharing more at a latter time.  We hope that you will pray and support the work of Compassion Acts.  It is thru your financial support and prayers that we can posture ourselves to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the poor in our country and in the countries of the world.
