From the Desk of James W. Goll
This past weekend we hosted our much-anticipated Prayer Storm Intensive – The Fire Must Burn - with Bob Perry, Kimble Knight and myself. The worship led by Jeff and Suzanne Whatley and Julie True was very rich. The teaching and impartation times were very rewarding. You can order the CD set for $29 if you were unable to attend. Thanks goes to the EN Staff and Volunteers for their labors of love in serving all who came from far and near.
This week we celebrate our 100th week of our Global PrayerStorm. We presently have people from 74 nations participating. We are excited about this and look forward to the prayer storm growing both in numbers and in effectiveness.
Please note that we have a Special available through our EN Online Resource Center. With any purchase, you receive a free copy of Michal Ann’s and my book Angelic Encounters for the months of November and December. A section of this book was highlighted in the November Charisma Magazine as well. This book will also make a great Christmas present –so take advantage of this free offer today.
In this week’s email communiqué, we are featuring a word from the Director of Compassion Acts, Mark Roye. Mark and his wife Suzy are the founders of Blood N Fire in San Antonio, Texas and have been friends of the Goll family and our ministry for many years. Mark has traveled extensively with Larry Randolph and both Michal Ann and myself, and has served in various capacities in the body of Christ for many years. Mark is known for his work of compassion, ministry to the poor, and his heart of encouragement. He is a part of the EN Management Team.
We are also highlighting a couple of ways that you can serve through both Compassion Acts in Mozambique and My Brother’s Keeper in Israel. Some are called to prayer. Some are called to serve and some are called to give. But we are all called to action.
Blessings to each of you! Remember, together in Jesus, we make a great team.
With Joy!

Compassion Acts Moves Forward:
Guts To Serve
by Mark Roye
As I thought of what I wanted to share this month, I thought about one of the founding principles that my wife Susie and I have lived our lives by for the past 10 years. We just celebrated our 10th year at Blood N Fire San Antonio. That is our inner city work which seeks to be a source of love and hope to the poor in the inner city of San Antonio. It can be hard work sometimes, but the driving force behind us is the compassion of the Father.
In Matthew 9, we see a principle of the Kingdom of God being brought into a structured religious system that loved to hide itself behind the rules, and separate itself from those who were not like them. In verses 9-13 Jesus is encountering people that needed to see and feel the love of the Father. First he finds Matthew, a tax collector, which was not an occupation that people admired, but Jesus said follow me and he did. Would we have chosen him to be on our team? The next scene in verse 11 is Jesus eats with the sinners and the religious leaders ask, “Why is Jesus hanging out with those kind of people?” Jesus knowing their thoughts, said in verse 13 for them to go and learn what it means, “I desire compassion and not sacrifice”. He goes on to say “I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners”.
This word compassion means, “To show kindness or good will towards the miserable and the afflicted, joined with a desire to help them.” So compassion is not just an emotion, but an emotion that triggers an action. So it means COMPASSION ACTS!
The passage goes on to tells how Jesus went about His daily life teaching, healing and meeting the everyday needs of people. In verse 36 Jesus saw the people and felt compassion. He saw their pain and felt their stress from everyday life. The word for compassion in vs 36 is different though. It means, “to be moved as in one's bowels." Instead of bowels I prefer to use the word “Guts”. As in the past the bowels/guts were thought to be the seat of love and pity. Therefore to be moved with compassion meant to be deeply moved. It is that innermost part of us that feels that God is leading us to not just to feel an emotion of pity for someone, but do something about it. To be God’s hands, feet and voice to hurting humanity - to have the Guts to Serve others.
Compassion Acts is about promoting the message and giving opportunity for us to see and feel compassion for others around the world. That causes us to respond wtih acts of compassion. But, I want to challenge you start in your own neighborhood and community and pray for Father God to give you eyes of compassion for others. When He shows you something, be willing to act by doing something to help others.
God's promise to us in verses 37-38 there is a great harvest that is waiting to be gathered if we will become Compassionate Christians. Let’s pray for God to raise up a company of people empowered with the Father’s Love and the Power of the Holy Spirit to give hope to a hurting world.
Blessings to You!
Mark Roye

~ in memory of Michal Ann Goll ~

Open the Door for Dreamers!
Join one of our two teams going to Pemba this May 23 - June 4 and June 3 - 17 in 2010. We will build Dreamer’s Playground Park in
memory of Michal Ann Goll. This park is for the Children at the Iris Ministry Center in Pemba, Mozambique with Heidi Baker and the Iris Team.
In her handwritten Last Will and Testament, Michal Ann wrote in part:
I request that you not forget the poor that Jesus died for and that you carry on my ministry of Compassion Acts to the world.
With that in mind we are excited about our upcoming trip to Mozambique to build Dreamer’s Park May 23-June 4 and June 3-15, 2010.
We have set two travel periods to accommodate more people. You can stay the entire time if you choose, but most people will sign up for one or the other of the 14 day periods.
