Recently in our Global Prayer Storm, we asked the Lord to move upon state governmental authorities to call forth a Day of Prayer concerning the Gulf Oil Spill. Thanks for your prayers! That is exactly what happened! Let the prayers continue to arise and may God’s thumb be released to bring divine intervention. This last week in our Global Prayer Storm efforts we prayed for the Lord’s blessing and direction for the combined ministries of Encounters Network • Prayer Storm • Compassion Acts. Collectively, we cried out for the leadership of our local church congregation and the ministries that we each participate in around the globe. We contended for one another’s ministries last week! That is teamwork
This month we are trying something new in our online Resource Center. Both are great books and if you already have a copy of the free book we are offering, you can always use it to give as a gift to a family member or friend. Also note that we will use a measure of flexibility this summer in our Prayer Storm efforts and other weekly communications while we continue to go through changes and transition with our staff at EN. This week is Scott Cross’s last week with us as our Communications Director. Thank you for serving the Lord and all of us with such an eager heart. We love you Scott! We will miss you greatly!

A Call 2 Fall with the Prayer Storm

This Sunday, July 4th in the United States marks what is called Independence Day. With this in mind, I am bringing a prayer burden to you from Tony Perkins from the Family Research Council. Please adapt this brief report for your own nation. Let’s walk in Governmental Intercession this week and pray for those in authority, fall to our knees in repentance, and together call on the Name of the Lord. Remember, please adapt these Prayer Storm themes and always walk in Spirit led and Spirit empowered worship and prayer.

Help Change America this July 4th
America is in deep trouble.. Consider the following:
Environmental disaster of epic proportion in the Gulf of Mexico
Economic struggles with unemployment at nearly 10%
Protracted bloody wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
Political leadership bent on promoting what God forbids
We are a broken nation full of broken people who have broken God's laws and God's heart. Consequently, in these difficult days, the Lord has continued to impress upon me the great need for us, as followers of Jesus Christ, to take responsibility for the broken state of our nation and go to God for help because He is the only one who can help. Yet we must go to God on His terms: in humility, prayer, and repentance as outlined in 2 Chronicles 7:14. We must begin on our knees. That is why we have re-launched the "Call2Fall" for Sunday, July 4th.

The very day we celebrate our "Independence," we need to re-declare our "Dependence" upon God in humble and repentant prayer. The Need for Divine Wisdom

Not long ago I was given a vivid dream where all my teeth rotted and fell out of my mouth one by one. It was a short dream but came with a stunning sensation. In the dream I wondered what in the world was going on! I was left with a sense of bewilderment, confusion and uncertainty just as our world today is beginning to ask, “What is going on?”
I was reminded that at the beginning of the year I had given my unusual first of the year message on Responding to Storms. (I have included it as the MP3 again this week just in case you still have not down loaded it.)
The voice of the Holy Spirit came to me as I awakened out of the dream and said, “The world is coming to an end to her wisdom. You are crossing a threshold where the world will not have the answers to life’s dilemmas. Tell my people to seek Me for divine wisdom. Seek Me for wisdom that goes beyond natural reasoning – for the wisdom which comes down from above.”
This sounds a lot like the verses of James 1:5–8. “But if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his way.”
James 3:13–18 continues in a similar vein. “Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle and reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
In my youth, I prayed three prayers on an on-going basis. Lord, give me wisdom beyond my years like Solomon. Lord, raise up your Joseph counselors to those in authority like you did in time before. Lord, give me a heart of purity to keep me from the evil way. Those were good prayers then, and they are even better prayers today.
With crisis circumstances mounting across the globe, unsolvable wars continuing, world economies crumbling, and the Gulf Oil spill worsening, it is time for us to seek wisdom from above. The book of Proverbs exhorts us above all things to seek wisdom. The world is losing her grip on things. The world will lose her cutting edge. The world will lose her impacting speech capacities. But in that hour those how know their God will arise with wisdom and call on the name of the Lord who can solve every problem!
