Wow in recent weeks through our International PrayerStorm efforts we have prayed for TheCall France, The Global Day of Prayer, The Cherokee Nation, intervention in Sri Lanka and Pakistan and much more. We carry these weekly themes while still being in the midst of Praying through Times of Transition from Mother’s Day on May 10th to Father’s Day on June 21st, 2009. Let’s remember to continue to lift this very ministry to the Lord – Encounters Network, Compassion Acts and PrayerStorm – for guidance and provision.
This week we are going to carry a theme of Breaking the Back of Cancer. So the prayer theme this week is very personal to me and to many as cancer is a worldwide dieses. This coming Sunday, June 5th, in some circles is recognized as the Worldwide Cancer Prayer Network Day. This24 hour prayer event can be viewed live on June 5th. Please visit www.cancerprayerday.org on June 5th to view the live prayer services. For more ways to participate see the details below. Many, many, many people need our prayers in their fight against cancer! Let’s pray together for a breakthrough in Jesus Name!
On a personal note, I need your prayers as once again, the cancer growths in my body have started growing and have about doubled in their size and mass. I will have a PET scan done on June 9th and meet with the oncologist on June 12th to find out the level of cancer activity. In my latest Health Update I share in greater detail on these events, please click here to read it.
Thanks for your friendship, prayers and on going support of the ministry of EN, CA and Prayer Storm. Thank you for helping me to be a prophetic intercessory ambassador in your behalf. Remember, together in Jesus, we make a great team!
~ Praying for the Cure & Eradication of Cancer ~
Worldwide Cancer Prayer Network
Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7
What to Pray for...
Our goal is that citizens in every country around the world would pray for the healing of people suffering from cancer. Why do we want to do this? The need is great. More than 10 million people will die in the year 2005 from cancer. For statistics, please click www.cancer.org or www.who.org . We believe that God answers prayers and that when people are sick, we should pray for their healing. James chapter 5 verses 13-16, Isaiah Chapter 53 verses 4-5 and 2nd Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14.

PRAYER EFFORT FOCUSES ON FINDING CURE FOR CANCER
With 9 million people living with cancer in the United States alone and another 10 million worldwide diagnosed each year, Christians are uniting to pray one of the world's most feared diseases.
Intercessors from all 50 states and more than 100 nations are expected to participate in the Worldwide Cancer Prayer Day held annually on June 5. In addition to individual prayer efforts throughout the day, a special service will be held that evening at Crystal Cathedral in California.
Among the participants will be Dr. Francisco Contreras, a noted oncologist who specializes in holistic and alternative cancer treatment. A committed Christian who leads the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico, Contreras helped found the day of prayer in 1997 with Dr. Daniel Kennedy, executive vice president of Oasis of Hope, and Robert A. Schuller, son of Crystal Cathedral senior pastor Robert Schuller.
Author of The Hope of Living Cancer Free and The Coming Cancer Cure (both by Siloam Press), Contreras said he plans to pray for a breakthrough in cancer research. "I do believe God heals people, and I believe that He can prevent the occurrence of cancer in people, but I have a very special prayer that I lift up every year. I pray, 'God, please grant wisdom to the doctors and scientist and help them find the cure for cancer'", he said. "I believe that God will answer this prayer, and though the glory for the cure for cancer may be given to researcher in some university, I know that it will be God who will give the enlightenment to that researcher."
While praying for a cure, participants will also pray for those living with cancer and for the families of those ho have died of the disease. Among this year's participants are people who know firsthand the pain that cancer brings, including Paul Finkenbinder, a well-know evangelist in Latin America who is living with cancer, and the younger Schuller, whose mother battled the disease.
Kennedy said he receives prayer request all year from as far Kuwait, South Africa and Hong Kong at the Worldwide Cancer Prayer Day Website www.cancerprayerday.org. The petitions are compiled into a book, which he has carried as far as Israel to have people pray over them.
Kennedy said the idea for the prayer day was birthed put of a series of visions he had over 11 days in which he saw "people uniting for one cause-prayer-for healing of those who have cancer." Contreras funded the inaugural event in 1998, which was broadcast internationally.
