What a joy it is to serve the Lord and equip His people! The theme of Encounters Network is Experiencing His Presence and Releasing His Power. One of the primary ways we do this at EN is through the Conferences, Intensives, and Classes that we offer each year. Having just completed our 3rd annual Secret Place Gathering ~ Addicted to His Presence. We wanted to share some of the experiences and feel of the conference. Below is a write up compiled by several of the Team Members of Encounters Network.

So now – let’s recap and recall some of what the Father did at this gathering – and let’s raise our faith level as we get ready for what lies ahead in 2007!

Reflections upon the Secret Place Gathering 2007:

Addicted to His Presence

“Every session this weekend has been wrecking my brain,” said a somewhat tipsy James Goll as he stood next to the rocking shape of Lou Engle on the platform Saturday evening. Throughout the three days of the Secret Place Gathering: Addicted to His Presence in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, those who attended were stretched, stirred and wrecked. Leading the way into the Lord's presence in worship were Lindell Cooley, Chris DuPré, Alberto and Kimberly Rivera, Rob Still, and Julie True.

In the opening session, James W. Goll set the tone for the conference with the stirring message “Engaging His Presence”. He showed how the Prayer movement of the 70's and the rich heritage of intercession that was birthed opened the way for much of what we enjoy today. The prayers of intercession lifted up before God’s throne have brought down keys that allow us to go deeper into His Presence. This led to the reemergence of the prophetic and laid the foundation for apostolic fathers and mothers to arise and equip this generation.  

Bishop Garlington unveiled the character of God and the wealth and riches of his promises in the message “Our Camels are coming!” He then sounded a call for us to dwell in the Presence of the Lord no matter what the cost. A nationally recognized worship leader, Bishop Garlington dramatically wove his messages through both teaching and song. Accompanied by Clarence, his keyboardist of over 20 years, these vocal dramas brought significant breakthrough to all present.

Tommy Tenney reminded us that God has chosen the weak, the forgotten and often overlooked things to instruct and teach the wise. He can raise the dead, give a barren woman children, and make a dead almond staff blossom with leaves, flowers, and fruit as a testimony to His hidden plan for our lives. Tommy then unfurled another side of God's nature - that He is the God of the ultimate comeback. Tommy unpacked the Biblical drama of Gahazi, cursed with leprosy, in the story of “The Ultimate Comeback!” This was for many a startling view into a well read story. We were pierced through our hearts as Tommy showed us the Father’s heart of mercy, grace and love to a changed heart!

On the final night, God gave us a sneak peak into His clandestine plan to turn a nation back to Himself! Lou Engle unpacked the prophetic history of The Call movement, and how God is rallying us yet again! Lou revealed a secret from the heart of God - how a children’s book holds wisdom for the future regarding abortion ("Horton Hears a Who"). Lou then shared how a series of divine dreams launched The Call and created a culture of young and old who are sold-out completely to Him interceding day and night. A Call for life and a Call to repentance and purity is going up so that this nation might be won for God.

Lou used this to summon us to The Call – a solemn assembly on 07/07/07, which will be held in Nashville, TN at LP Field, a 70,000 seat stadium. He shared how many years ago Bob Jones saw in a vision and heard the Lord say that Nashville was going to build a stadium for Him and his purposes. Most of those present stayed well beyond the close of the last meeting to release a desperate cry of intercession that had begun to swell in our hearts. As Lou poignantly shared, there is a God-propelled unction to shout from the rooftops what the Lord whispers in secret. The whispers of God set in motion a whirlwind in peoples lives and set into existence events that even now are building into a mighty display of His Goodness!

If there was an overarching motif that characterized the gathering, it is that God is breaking down the walls of the Secret Place - and is invading every aspect of our lives!
