A Summer of Love
by Mark Roye | for Compassion Acts

From the Desk of James W. Goll,

Well, it has been one big week and the next one will be the even greater! This past week I had the honor of ministering alongside Stacey Campbell, Bidal Torrez and others in Neenah, Wisconsin at the Valley Harvest Church and then on to the capitol city of Madison with Advance K Ministries with Steven and Renee Springer for Sunday AM and PM. What a joy to be with hungry people! It is an honor to be an ambassador for Christ in so many different regions with such diverse cultures.

Earlier in the week, my friend of many years, David Dreiling, graduated to be with the Lord after a short and intense battle with pancreatic cancer. His Jewish graveside funeral was this last Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee. It was a wonderful tribute to a dear friend and Jewish believer. I am including with this week’s communication a Personal Memorial Tribute to this dear man of God that touched so many lives.

This coming Saturday, August 14th, my youngest daughter, Rachel Renee marries Mckendree Augustus Tucker IV in our hometown of Franklin, Tennessee. So this week will be full of family gatherings, lots of food and lots of celebration. And I have the honor of being the father of the bride! My oldest son Justin is in for the grand event from Los Angeles, California with his newly announced fiance – Danielle Pierce – a winter wedding is being planned! Then on Monday, August 16th, my son Tyler moves to Los Angeles, California to look for employment in the Gaming (Video Game) Industry. GraceAnn then departs on August 24th for Chicago to work on her MA in Art Therapy at the prestigious Chicago Art Institute. So this is a month of great CHANGE in the Goll family household!

Remember our monthly FREE book offer at our online Resource Center. For the month of August when you purchase The Coming Israel Awakening you receive Praying for Israel’s Destiny for FREE – both are great books! Remember to visit EN Media – relevant messages for our day - where we have over 25 FREE audio messages available as well as over 50 FREE video downloads! Please tell others about these great tools!

This week our Prayer Storm focus and A View from My Chair report center around the work of Compassion Acts. Mark Roye is bringing you a report from their ministry of Blood N Fire in San Antonio, Texas.

Thank you for your partnership! Remember, in Jesus, we make a great team!

With Anticipation!

A Personal Memorial Tribute to David Dreiling
by James W. Goll
  David D

David Dreiling was one of the most brilliant men and intensely, passionate believers I have ever known in my lifetime. Few have equaled the intelligence, wit and candor of this true New York Jew. As a businessman, working for years in both residential and commercial real estate, he successfully started numerous businesses. He knew both the years of abundance and the times of leanness. It seemed he could make a deal work when others failed to find a way. He was an amazing trainer in the marketplace – always mentoring others with his sixth sense of savvy.

David was a Jewish prophet – and to be real and honest - not many of his kind have existed in modern history. He loved sharing his insights with others from scriptures and releasing prophetic revelation in his own unique, conversational style. Though quite intense in his personality, he mentored many in a low-key manner in the “ways of God.”

We first met at a Vineyard Equipping Conference in Anaheim, California when the historic interchange transpired with what became known as the “Kansas City Prophets”. David (residing in Salem, Oregon at the time) and I became joined at the hip at that event. We sort of became the prophetic odd couple - a highly unlikely pair to be matched up together. Just think of it – a wealthy Jewish Cosmopolitan connecting with a poor Gentile Rural Missourian. But we continued from that point on in our most unusual journey.

For me, David was one of the guys with which I could actually carry on a stimulating, intellectual conversation with and then in a moment of time shift to swapping bizarre stories of the supernatural kind.  David was one of my warring buddy’s as we traveled together for several years across the U. S. and much of Europe. We walked through the peaks and the valleys of the prophetic movement, the ebb and flow of current day understandings of God’s heart for Israel and we shared many prayer times together.

We have fought together for God’s purposes in each others families and supported one another till death did we part. We served in one another’s respective spheres. David had been on the Board of Directors of Encounters Network as a financial adviser for years and I had the honor of serving in my networking capacity on the Israel Relief Fund, which he founded. We lived as families together both in Franklin, Tennessee and earlier in the Kansas City region. We would not see each other for weeks and then instantly reconnect for hours.

His wife was Anne and mine was Ann. Their youngest child, Katie, and my oldest child, Justin, even attended Dominion Christian School together in Missouri. David was six months older than I and he often let me know that “he was my elder”. David and I deeply respected each other but we also learned to give each other space and room to be our own people. We didn’t always see eye to eye – but we were always there for one another through the joys and sorrows of life.

I have dearly loved this unique Jewish man and his devoted wife Anne. I, along with many others, will deeply miss his strange humor, his deep wisdom and his generous and thankful heart. “I will miss you David. I will have a hole in my heart till I see you again. Tell my Annie, and Jill and Stevie and all the others hello for me as together you enjoy worship in the real 24/7 House of Prayer.”

Truly, I will never forget, that I, a Gentile country boy, was befriended by a New York Jew. Thank you, Lord for the life of David Dreiling.

With Gratitude,
James W. Goll

A Summer of Love…
by Mark Roye

This summer has be one of the busiest summers ever for me, as the Director of Compassion Acts and the founder of Blood-n-Fire San Antonio.  It all started with our Compassion Acts trip to Pemba, Mozambique.  We had an awesome team that made the long trip to Africa to build, “Dreamers Park”, a playground built to honor the memory of Michal Ann Goll.  In just two weeks we were able to build a playground that now provides fun for hundreds of children.  After months of planning, it brought great satisfaction to complete this project.  It was a great way to start the summer - sharing the love of God with the children of Mozambique as well as honoring Michal Ann.

I was back from Mozambique just one day when our first mission group arrived at Blood-n-Fire San Antonio! Their arrival began our summer camp program for children in the inner city of San Antonio.  As we begin our 11th year of ministry in San Antonio, we still love serving this community. We had over 50 children each day of camp - all having a great time enjoying games, crafts and learning about the love of the God.  After three hours of children’s camp in the mornings our mission groups would then do work projects in the Blood-n-Fire community.  One of our projects is a 108 year-old house that we are preparing for ministry use.  It is located in a part of town that is in great need of the hearing the message of the cross as prostitution is a thriving industry in the immediate area.  This fall we will begin our “Adopt-a-Block” program in this neighborhood in effort to build relationship in the community.  Due to the hard work of the summer mission groups, we are now ready to launch our ministry in this new neighborhood!  It is very hard and demanding work, but worth it all to see the lives of our children and people in the community hear and see how much God loves them.  It’s amazing to see what can be done when people purpose with their hearts to make a difference in the life of others.  I am often asked, “what drives you to do what you do?”  All I can say is that it is the love… the Kingdom of God is fueled by love.

As we conclude the Summer of 2010, we are preparing for our back to school event called, “Share Your Sole”.  My wife Susie came up with idea of giving needy children new shoes for ‘back to school’ about 8 years ago while rushing home from a ministry event so she could take our own children shopping for school shoes. Every year since, we have been able to give away over 300 pairs of new shoes to children in our Blood-n-Fire community.  We partner with local churches, businesses, and individuals to provide shoes and school supplies.  It is always a faith adventure to watch God provide what we need.  However, God’s people always come through. We know God is our source, but people are the conduit of God’s provision. We are thankful for all that are willing to help share love in a tangible way with the children in our community in San Antonio.

One of my favorite thoughts that I love to share with people is the message of the love of God.  We all know what John 3:16 says.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, would not perish but would have everlasting life.”  You see, God is a giver.  He was and is motivated by love.  It was because of His love for us that Jesus was given - to change us, and to motivate us to also love and be givers.  We all are either a giver or a taker.  Being a taker, being consumed with our own needs comes very naturally to us all.  It is part of our fallen nature.  But Jesus makes us want to give to others.  Another verse that tells of this truth is I John 3:16.  It says, “We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?” One of the ways that the love of God is validated if our lives is that we give - we give of our time, our abilities and our money.  We are to love people not just with our words, but also with our deeds.

Our summer has been full of opportunities to share the love of God!  As I think about all that has been accomplished this summer, my mind cannot believe all that we have been able to do.  Building a playground in Mozambique, hosting summer mission groups, kids camps and doing work projects in our community in San Antonio, as well as giving shoes to children for back to school…all in effort to show them that God loves them.

I am so grateful for everyone that has prayed and given towards the ministries of Compassion Acts and Blood-n-Fire San Antonio.  If you would like to read more, or to find out how you can support our efforts please check out our websites.

Praying for a Heart that Lives Love
by Jeffrey Thompson

In our PrayerStorm time this week, let’s ask God for hearts that manifest the love of God that Mark has described so aptly above. In 1 John 3:18 it states, “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” If you are like me, there are lots of times when I would prefer not to be bothered by people’s needs and situations. But the love that the Father has in mind for us to embrace is not one of words and intentions only, but with actions that substantiate and verify our desires to love others.

When we manifest the love of God towards others in this way, He hears our prayers because we are obeying His commands and are doing what pleases Him. 1 John 3:21 tells us, “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

As we pray, let’s step into greater and greater love for one another in our actions this week. According to John, this step of obedience will please God and bring the answers to our prayers, which is to have more of the love of God manifesting in our lives toward others! So, our hearts get transformed, the lives of others are touched, the heart of God is pleased and our prayers are answered. There never has been a better win, win situation!

Will you join me in praying?

Lord, help me to manifest your love in actions and in truth toward others today. Give me a heart that obeys your command of loving others the way You have loved me. I commit to not just praying this now, but to taking a step of obedience in loving others this week as you guide and direct me by Your Spirit. Help me not to just love in words and actions, but to express it in outward physical expressions toward others. Thank you that you hear me, and that as I obey Your commands my prayers are being answered.

In Jesus name, Amen!
