We have really tackled some major issues in the Global PrayerStorm – the hour that changes the world. Just think, we have prayed into 21 Jump Street – taking Jesus to the Streets, for a Reformation in the Health Care Systems around the world, and followed it with crisis intercession for a breakthrough into the Sex Trade Slavery Industry.
This week we are taking on another compassion theme emphasizing an effective ministry headed up by dear friends of many years – Marcus and Alyxius Young with Divine Inheritance. We are building on last week’s theme by targeting the Child Soldier Enslavement. Not only that – but we are offering you an opportunity to help rescue a child through Divine Inheritance and their spin-off international social justice program called Project: AK-47. More on that later in this weekly Prayer Storm bulletin.
I arrived home on Thursday from the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, Illinois. My treatments went well and now I am at home in a recovery mode. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me while I was undergoing treatment. If you missed the update I sent out last week from my time in Zion, click here. I would appreciate your ongoing prayers as I recover and have added some Personal Prayer Requests at the bottom of this e-blast.
Thanks to everyone who has partnered with us at EN in our goal of 1,000 Partners each giving a one-time gift of $100 over the next ten weeks. We have had a tremendous response! This is to help cover the EN Budget over the ten-week period of August 7th – October 9th. If you would still like to partner with us in this effort, please click here for more information.. Also – remember next week is the Worship Benefit on Tuesday, September 8th at 7 PM at Belmont Church to assist with my Medical Mercy Fund. We would love for you to come and be a part of this special night, >>Click Here<< for details.
Remember to pass these web-casts and prayer bullentins on to others. Help us grow the Prayer Storm – the hour that changes the world – into every nation of the earth!
Ending Child Soldier Enslavement
The question of children and armed conflict is an integral part of the United Nations' core responsibilities for the maintenance of international peace and security, for the advancement of human rights and for sustainable human development.
Secretary-General Kofi Annan in a speech to the Security Council, 26 July 2000
Vital Statistics (as recorded and stated by the UN)
· The number of children under the age of 18 who have been coerced or induced to take
up arms as child soldiers is generally thought to be in the range of 300,000.
· Most soldiers under 15 are to be found in non-governmental military organizations.
· Most child soldiers under 18 have been recruited into Governmental armed forces.
· The youngest child soldiers are about 7 years old.
· An optional protocol prohibiting the recruitment or use of children as soldiers was
completed and opened for signature and ratification by all States in June 2000.
· Over 50 countries currently recruit children under age 18 into their armed forces.
Life on the front line
I've seen people get their hands cut off, a ten-year old girl raped and then die, and so many men and women burned alive… So many times I just cried inside my heart because I didn't dare cry out loud, said a 14 year-old girl, abducted in January 2000 by the Revolutionary United Front, an armed group in Sierra Leone.

Child soldiers are "more obedient, do not question orders and are easier to manipulate than adult soldiers.
The exploitation of children in the ranks of the world's armies must end, says a new United Nations report. "One of the most alarming trends in armed conflict is the participation of children as soldiers," declares the report, by Graça Machel, the Secretary-General's Expert on the Impact of Armed Conflict on Children.
The report says the use of child soldiers is a problem created by adults, to be eradicated by adults. It calls for a global campaign to demobilize all child soldiers and to "eradicate the use of children under the age of 18 years in the armed forces." The report further calls upon governments to renounce the practice of forced recruitment, which has put increasing numbers of children under arms against their will.
"Children are dropping out of childhood," commented Devaki Jain of India, one of Ms. Machel's Eminent Persons' Group of advisers. "We must envision a society free of
conflict where children can grow up as children, not weapons of war."

I wanted to open the part of our PrayerStorm by quoting two world wide organizations that would be known to most if not all of our readers. I am not endorsing or condeming the UN (United Nations) or UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund). I am simply quoting them as reliable sources of information concerning this tragic situation around the world.
As I stated above, long time friends Marcus and Alyxius Young with Divine Inheritance are actively rescuing these child soldiers in Southeast Asia. Here is a brief history as told by them:
Divine Inheritance has a 120 year, multigenerational history in SE Asia. We have chosen harvest fields that require creative solutions from heaven. We exist and prosper today because of the sacrifice and prayers of those in our family who heard God’s voice and followed.
Starting with William Marcus Young in 1887, the Young family has a history of service and ministry in many countries within the SE Asia region. Built on this historic foundation, DI has been actively building the kingdom in tough places since 1994.
Taken from the Divine Inheritance website:
ABOUT CHILD SOLDIERS
Today there are over 100,000 child soldiers in Southeast Asia. According to The Asian Wall Street Journal one third of the 300,000 child soldiers in the world live in Southeast Asia. Yet, "live" is a relative term. Due to political and ethnic instability, conflict is widespread and children and their families suffer. Boys and girls as young as 6 years old are forced into local ethnic armies where they are trained as soldiers for guerrilla warfare. Their purpose: to serve and defend the drug lords of the area at the cost of losing their parents, families, homes and even their own lives.
Divine Inheritance exists to rescue these precious children
We take orphans out of hopeless situations and care for them. We labor in restricted access regions of Southeast Asia, where children are truly at risk, so we do not publish the specific locations of these children in order to protect them. We give them shelter, food, clothing, education, spiritual care and love.
We train these children to become leaders in their society. Some of them will work on tea plantations, others as teachers or government leaders. Regardless of their future positions, we train them to enjoy walking in God’s ways. In every aspect of life they learn to carry a spirit of excellence and to create positive impact on the regions they live in.
Why now?
Investing in these children will create positive global impact, as we change the face of nations by raising up moral young leaders in regions rife with instability, drugs, smuggling, disease and wars.
God has offered a great incentive. Proverbs 19:17 states it this way:
Mercy to the needy is a loan to GOD, and GOD pays back those loans in full, The Message

Project: AK-47 is a social justice project that was created by the Divine Inheritance team to engage advocates and supporters outside the four walls of the church. On this site, you will notice an intentional absence of Christian terms and phrases. There is an entire generation of people that have a desire to see justice brought to the injustices that are happening in the world. Many of them do not know Jesus and some may have had experiences in their lives that left them hurt and wounded from the actions of the church. They are not interested in religion, but they want to see change and impact nations! Marcus had a vision to tap this desire in a non-religious way, and out of that was born Project: AK-47.
So, I am asking you to pray that this non-religious website and social justice movement gain momentum and grow, as non-believers and believers alike join in bringing justice and mercy to the areas of Asia where children are exploited as soldiers.
Also, we need to pray that all rescue organizations receive the funds they need to rescue these children in need. These children need the healing touch of God through men and women to restore the joy of their childhood. Join with us this week as we pray for Divine Inheritance, Project: AK-47 and all the organizations that are rescuing child soldiers from this atrocity.
