This week we are going to pray
into a national and international crisis – Health Care Reform.
Most people agree that the U. S. needs some good change in our
national Health Care programs. The health care situation and
proposed changes in the U.S. are currently of paramount
importance. But we want to see the health care of every nation be
better, more affordable and more just. So no matter what nation
you live in, adjust the prayer points below and pray for your
nation while praying for wisdom and discernment for the U. S.
government regarding this issue.
As pray for health care reform
this week, please be in prayer for me over the next few days as I
am at the Cancer Treatment Center of America (CTCA) in Zion,
Illinois on August 17th – 27th, 2009. We are also asking people to
consider adding some form of fasting to their PrayerStorm efforts
this week. It would be great to see prayer with fasting arise
every day I am at the CTCA. Would you consider doing that for me?
It would be a great honor. I am going to add some Personal Prayer
Requests at the bottom on this e-blast as well.
Continue to lift to the Lord our
21 JumpStreet global outreach. We sent out an Update last week on
this valiant effort. Many lives are being touched around the
globe. You can read reports about 21 JumpStreet at the following
FaceBook page.
Thanks to each of you who have
already partnered with us at EN as one of our 1,000 Partners each
giving a one time gift of $100 over the next ten weeks. This will
help cover the EN Budget while I receive treatment and recover
over the ten-week period of August 7th – October 9th (any maybe
beyond.) >>click here<< for more information
or if you would like to donate.
There is also a great new
PrayerStorm webcast below that I recently taped about Governmental
Intercession that will help us to pray with clean hearts and pure
attitudes. Pass these webcasts and prayer bulletins on to others.
Help us grow the PrayerStorm – the hour that changes the world –
into every nation of the earth!
Reformation in the
Health Care
System
Years ago I was given a dream in
which I saw an eagle in flight. It had a crippled wing and it was
about to crash. The Lord spoke to me in the dream and said, "Pray
that both wings of the Eagle are healed and through prayer you can
call forth the wind to bear the eagle up in flight." I knew the
dream was a challenge for all of us in the U. S. It was not about
"right" or "left", it was about the necessity of both wings doing
their job for a healthy eagle to fly. Let's pray that way.
We need to pray for the voice of
authentic compassion to be trumpeted and also pray for true
righteousness to be revealed through the laws of the land. (As I
encourage in the video below, the Spirit of God does not honor
prayer for those in authority from a mean spirit. We can only
approach the throne of God with clean hands and a pure heart!)
Again, please adjust this emphasis to your own nation, province or
state. It is righteousness that we want to reign. We need a
reformation in our Health Care Systems across the globe! The
issues are very complex but we do want compassion and truth
to be wedded to one another.
The following recent quote from Rick Joyner demonstrates what I am talking
about, "an Eagle needs both a right wing and a left wing to fly."
I appreciate the thought here; it is very important that we do not
polarize into the place that we (right or left) have all the
answers to the Health Care crisis! We are Kingdom people first.
Yes, there is much opportunity here in the United States to see
the health care system work better and to ensure that people, real
human beings, are not slipping though the cracks and suffering
because of a failed system. But let's pray! There is a crisis in
the land!
For sure, I acknowledge the need
for change in America's health care system. Rather than going into
a deep analysis expressing my own personal views, I have presented
several of the issues at stake through well informed excerpts of
others below. I quoted Rick Joyner previously in this article, as
he is one of our statesmen in the generation. He and his team have
spent hours reviewing the health care bill that is before the U.S.
Congress, and they seem to have done a fair and quality analysis
of it. You can read Rick's analysis at the MorningStar website weekly.
Below you will find quotes from
various sources sharing thoughts on the U.S. Health Care Reform
bill. Our intention is to simply provide some of the issues over
which you can be in prayer:

'Abortion Will Be Covered... And It Should
Be.'
For those of you keeping track, the number of
proofs that abortion is included in the health care overhaul
officially hit seven last week at a townhall meeting in San
Jose, California. House Democrat Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) did
a fine job of making FRC's (Family Research Council) case after
a member of the audience specifically asked about the abortion
mandate. The text of the exchange follows:
QUESTION: "[This is a ] health care plan
that is covering abortion, which we know that over 90% of
abortions are purely elective, not medically necessary. Why is
this being covered when abortion is clearly not health care?"
(Applause).
REP. LOFGREN:
"[This is a] basic benefit plan developed by,
um, health professionals . . . Abortion will be covered
as a benefit by one or more of the health care plans available
to Americans, and I think it should
be."
It doesn't get any clearer
than that. . . (Family Research Council; Washington Update;
excerpt)
Over the past weekend,
Washington Post columnist Charles Lane explored
the legislation at the root of this particularly controversial
aspect of healthcare reform -- Section 1233 on end-of-life
decisions. Here are some excerpts of his column:
". . . at least as I read it,
Section 1233 is not totally innocuous...
The 1997 ban on
assisted-suicide support specifically allowed doctors to honor
advance directives. And last year, Congress told doctors to
offer a brief chat on end-of-life documents to consenting
patients during their initial "Welcome to Medicare" physical
exam. That mandate took effect this year.
. . . section 1233, however,
addresses compassionate goals in disconcerting proximity to
fiscal ones. . . .If it's all about obviating suffering,
emotional or physical, what's it doing in a measure to 'bend
the curve' on health-care costs? ". . .
Though not mandatory, as some
on the right have claimed, the [end-of-life] consultations
envisioned in Section 1233 aren't quite "purely voluntary," as
Rep. Sander M. Levin (D-Mich.) asserts. To me, "purely
voluntary" means "not unless the patient requests one."
Section 1233, however, lets doctors initiate the chat and
gives them an incentive -- money -- to do so. Indeed, that's
an incentive to insist.
Patients may refuse without penalty, but many
will bow to white-coated authority. Once they're in the
meeting, the bill does permit "formulation" of a plug-pulling
order right then and there. So when Rep. Earl Blumenauer
(D-Ore.) denies that Section 1233 would "place senior citizens in situations where
they feel pressured to sign end-of-life directives that they
would not otherwise sign," I don't think he's being
realistic...

Two polls released this week measured the public's
reaction to the healthcare town hall protests, which Big Media
and liberal Democrats have condemned as "un-American" and
"manufactured anger." According to a Gallup poll, 69% of
Americans are closely following the news about the town hall
events. How do they feel about the protests? Fifty-seven
percent say concerns about the bill are a major reason why the
protests are taking place. Independent voters, by a
two-to-one margin, are "more sympathetic to the protestors'
views." Even 17% of self-identified Democrats say they are "more
sympathetic to the protestors' views."
A Fox News poll found similar results. Fifty-two
percent of registered voters say the outrage is real; only 29%
agree with White House Press Secretary Roberts Gibbs, who called
it "manufactured anger." Speaking of the White House, 57%
disapprove of the White House request to report "fishy" emails.
And when asked how they feel about the government getting more
involved in healthcare, only 19% said they felt "reassured,"
while 17% said it made them "angry" and 31% said they were
"frightened" by the idea. And a whopping
92% of voters polled said that they expect members of Congress
to read legislation they vote on!
...We learned yesterday that the volume of e-mail
pouring into Capitol Hill is crashing the servers. And it was
also reported yesterday that a key Senate committee is going to
"pull the plug" on the controversial sections of the bill
dealing with end-of-life issues.
Don't be intimidated! This is your country - fight
for what you believe! (Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; 8/14/09)
While this PrayerStorm has had a
more United States focus to it, I do want to encourage everyone to
pray that health care is provided for every person in their
country. That quality of care is not just something that "America,
Canada, Europe, Asia or any other country or people group" should
have, but it is something that we should desire everyone to have
and benefit from! It is time for a reformation and it is time for
change. But these changes must line up with the Word of God, be
pro-life, and dedicated towards righteousness while helping the
poor and the disabled. We must fight for the eagle to be healed!
Both wings!
Pray that wisdom will be granted
to the lawmakers in America as they wrestle through how to bring
needed reform to the health care system here. Pray that
righteousness will govern their decisions. Pray that our nations
take a stand for life. Pray that the plans of wickedness are cast
down and that the plots of the evil one are exposed. Pray that a
new adoption movement comes forth across the earth. Pray that the
church arises and that the power of God is demonstrated. That is
the ultimate reformation needed an explosion of the power of
God.
So let's pray. Let's fast. Much is
hanging in the balance right now. It is time to mount the walls of
intercession for a Reformation in the Health Care Systems of the
earth.

PERSONAL PRAYER
REQUESTS FOR JAMES W. GOLL
What do you pray? Consider
these things:
- That all cancer cells be eradicated from my
body.
- That I be given strength to endure the
treatments.
- That the Lord comfort my family while I am
away from home.
- That the Lord releases the 1,000 partners who
will cheerfully give a one time gift of $100 to EN during this
ten week period of August 7th through October 9th.
- Pray that the cancer never returns! (to any
other lymph glands in my body or any other organ system.)
- Pray that the Lord directs the doctors on my
post treatment regimen of rebuilding my system.
- Prayer that a breakthrough is given to me, to
my family and to this ministry and that hope will be restored
and that God will be glorified through the testimony that will
come forth.
Thank you so very much!
