This month's devotional will be a summary of what God spoke to us at our recent 9th annual Women on the Frontlines Conference 2006: Gathering the War Generals on August 3rd-5th in Cincinnati. The speakers for this conference were: Heidi Baker, Lee Grady, Shelvi Gilmore, Shirley Sustar, Heather Clark, and Myself.
We encourage any of you who missed this conference to partake in the dynamic teaching sessions of Heidi Baker, Lee Grady, and myself available in a CD series titled Gathering the War Generals (see the right hand column to order these sets).
Many Blessings!

Being Chocolate to the World!
James and I have finally returned home this past week. James was dismissed from Oasis of Hope Hospital, in Tijuana, Mexico, on the 11th of August. I was able to join him for the first few days of his stay there, and then flew back home to host our 9th annual Women on the Frontlines Conference. This year it was held in Cincinnati, OH. This meant, of course, that James was not able to attend the conference, his favorite one of the year! But we had a surprise for him. We called him on the phone and everyone yelled and screamed their love to him; he ate it up, almost crying at the end of the call. He was really blessed! After the conference, I flew back out to join him for the last few days of his stay there. He is doing very well and he is so happy to be back home! Healing is in the house!
I have been very busy since the conference attending to many things, and am just now having time to write up this report from the conference. My heart is very full as many things transpired during those three days – WOW! God is awesome! How beautiful is our friend, Holy Spirit! He orchestrated such a symphony with great depth, amazing empowering, and lovely refreshing!
We had approximately 800-900 people in attendance, and of course they were mostly women, but we did have some dear brothers with us. Lee Grady spoke in such a disarming manner and released a liberty among the women that was beautiful. After his sessions, he stayed for lengthy periods of time, patiently and compassionately praying for every woman who had come forward for prayer. He intelligently and clearly discussed issues concerning women’s roles in the Kingdom, and broke through constraints and just plain religious ideas that have bound women for centuries. He set the record straight, teaching what the Bible really does say, and showing what man has said – point by point – thoroughly dismantling argument after argument! We felt such a joining with him during this time that we extended an invitation for him to join us next year. He responded without hesitation, “YES!”
We also had Shelvi Gilmore, who had just returned from a mission’s trip into the Middle East area, where she and her daughter, Naomi, brought freedom and deliverance to many through the gospel! They are heroines of faith, going into Muslim areas and raising up the Ps. 68:11 host of women that are changing the world with the love of Jesus! Shirley Sustar, author and teacher, brought a wonderful mothering grace and a real time of being instructed in the Word.
Heather Clark, who has come several times to lead worship at our conferences, increased her impact by speaking her heart concerning full on, nothing held back, worship to God - at all times, in all arenas of our lives. It was great and very motivating.
Years ago I had been given a word by my dear friend, Ann Bell. She saw me in a vision, wearing a red cape (like little red riding hood), and holding a lantern. The lantern didn't seem to be emitting much light, but it shone just enough for me to see the next step to take. This has been such a source of encouragement to me. Building on this concept, during my sessions we went on a journey of looking at heroines from the past who let their "lights" shine, whether with a big flame or seemingly small - walking through a wonderful hallway of heroes, as I like to call it. Then we took a jump into the now, and the future, prophetically declaring and releasing new anointings that I see the Lord is opening up for us to move into. For our ministry release time, our team passed out candles to everyone in the auditorium, and we passed the flame in a prophetic symbolic gesture to one another until every candle had been lit. Once all candles were lit, we turned off all artificial lighting, and oh my, how much light was released in the room! I don't know about anyone else - but I loved it!
A candle may seem small and insignificant, but it shines brighter and brighter as the world gets darker and darker. When we learn to gather together, and give what we have, not measuring it against what someone else may carry, our "little" light illuminates the hearts and minds of those all around us! This is the heart of the Lord that resonated throughout our time together! We had a time of women coming to the platform and releasing God given power and authority, for true impact and impartation. We may have come into this conference as individuals, but we ended up becoming a company, with everyone contributing to the needs of the body!
Our conference title was "Gathering the War Generals", and I do believe that this is what happened! Being a general in the Kingdom is totally different than what many of us may have envisioned. As Heidi Baker said, "It's upside down". To go higher in authority, higher in purpose and deeper into the heart of God, we must always go lower and eat, drink, sleep, and move in the humility that clothed Jesus - the very fabric of His eternal, illuminated being.
Heidi was also with us, and of course she always brings the sweet aroma of worship, from times of just laying prostrate on the floor, to kneeling at the podium, to dancing ballet on the stage, all is for Jesus - to give Him all! We all just melded together as one big pool of worshipers, at one point laughing hilariously and the next, tears uncontrollably flowing! He is worth it all!
I cannot close without telling at least a piece of the whole "Hershey" experience that occurred!
Shelvi and I were supposed to do an afternoon session together, and when the time came, Shelvi was glued to the floor. Here I was, sitting on the platform, not having a clue where I was to go when I had a sudden download to tell about the Hershey's chocolate prophetic words of healing that have been getting released. I can't go into all the details here - but as I began to tell of Aglow International women of Hershey praying over bags of chocolate for healing to be released, a dear friend ran down the aisle with 14 bars of Hershey's chocolate. She said that they were left over from a widow's luncheon and she just knew the Lord had told her to bring them to the conference, not knowing why. The more we talked, a couple of people brought up remaining Kisses and those snack size pieces of Hershey's chocolate, in bags they had purchased and put them on the altar. Well, without going into all the details, by the end of that session we had given chocolate bars to all the widows and widowers in the conference. Then all the women who had been healed from barrenness prayed over all the women who had been barren. We prayed fruitfulness over David and Donna Kelly in their work in Cincinnati, and for the gospel to be released with new freshness and vitality. We prayed for the chocolate to be multiplied and sent out with David and Donna, along with all the formerly barren women into the crowd with the chocolate we had left over. EVERY PERSON HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE THAT AFTERNOON, ALL 800-900 PEOPLE! ALL THE WORKERS OUT IN THE HALLWAYS, EVERYONE WE COULD FIND, AS MANY AS WANTED TO, ATE CHOCOLATE! And, we had two partial bags left over.
Then, after we had closed out this time, and were ready to walk out of the auditorium, I realized there were 3 Wal-Mart bags filled with Hershey's chocolate on the front steps of the worship center. One of my friends saw a woman dressed in black who walked in, didn't say a word to anyone, brought the bags to the front, placed them on the steps, and then silently walked back out. Now, it is very possible that this was a flesh and blood person from the conference, but I have to wonder if it was she an angelic being? We ended up with probably 75-100 bars of chocolate on the steps that afternoon.
When Heidi walked in for the evening session, she asked why we had chocolate bars on the steps! Well, we ended up in an amazing time of God dealing with our view of who He is. Heidi, with a chocolate bar in hand and eating piece by piece, talked about His heart that wants everybody to be fed. He does not have a stingy heart and He can multiply chocolate if He wants! She talked about issues of jealously, without actually saying the word. She said she had no problem with God multiplying chocolate in the West when her children need food in the East - because she really knows Him - His heart - do we? Oh, the Lord dealt with so many of our attitudes and gave a fresh release of His goodness and generosity! By the end of the final session, chocolate bars were flying around the room, being tossed to those far in the back who couldn't get to the front.
Maybe we are to be like those chocolate bars; could it be that God is getting ready to toss us, to send us to those who are desperate to taste the goodness of the Lord?! OH TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD!
Many, many blessings to you –
Michal Ann
