We invite you to come to Nashville, TN and hear from some of the top leaders in the land of IsraeI at our Israel Awakening Conference. Asher Intrater and Marty Goetz will lead the way on Thursday evening. Don Finto and Avner and Rachel Boskey will conduct an authentic “sabbath service” on Friday night. The Conference will culminate on Saturday evening as we cast the vision for God’s heart for Israel to the next generation with speaker, Richard Frieden and worship by Todd Ganovski. Other speakers and worship leaders will join us during the daytime sessions September 6 – 8, 2007 at Belmont Church in Nashville, TN and we will have a special leaders luncheon on Saturday. This Network Connections (formerly the Vision Cast) is Part Two on Prophetic Intercession entitled Receiving the Burden of the Lord. I truly want to see an army of prophetic intercessors arise who walk in the fruit, wisdom and gifting of the Holy Spirit. Michal Ann returns today from Oasis of Hope in Mexico where she has spent this past week receiving more cancer treatments. Our friend and intercessor Kathleen Colbert, has accompanied her on this trip. Continue to pray with us for her complete healing (and mine as well). We need you to amount the walls of intercession in a special manner at this time. I should have scans done again soon and then I will be able to give you an update.

Receiving the Burden of the Lord!

It was a lowly donkey, a beast of burden, that had the privilege of carrying Jesus into His divine appointment in Jerusalem on what later was called Palm Sunday. Today, the Holy Spirit once again is choosing “burden bearers” to carry Jesus into their cities for divine appointments.
Who are these modern day “burden bearers”? How do they carry the “burden of the Lord”? This indeed is one of the highest privileges in the Lord. Oh the joy of leaning your head onto the chest of Jesus and hearing His heart beat like John the Beloved did. Do you want to hear what it is in His very heart and let your heart beat in rythmn with His? This is the task of a Prophetic Intercessor.
Will you sign up to be a “beast of burden” and carry Jesus where He wants to go? Will you be one of them?
HOW DOES REVELATORY PRAYER – PROPHETIC INTERCESSION HAPPEN?
It Comes Through the Illumination of Scripture
1. Daniel 9:2 - In the first year of his reign I, Daniel, observed in the books the number of the years which was revealed as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years. Daniel mediated on the word of God and revelation was granted to him. Thus he knew how to pray and the conditions that must be met in order for the prophetic promise to be released.
2. Jeremiah 29:10 - For thus says the Lord, ‘When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, to bring you back to this place.’
3. Here we see, that Daniel prayed the promise that was given prophetically to a previous generation. You can do the same. Pick up those revelatory promises and purposes and call them forth like Daniel of old.
Practical Applications from Habakkuk 2:1-3
I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; and I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am reproved. Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.
1. From Habakkuk 2:1-3
a. First he goes to a quiet place where he can be alone and still.
b. He quiets himself within by watching to see what God would say.
c. When God begins to speak, the first thing God says is record the vision.
2. Becoming Still
a. Psalm 46:10a - Cease striving and know that I am God.
b. Remove external distractions, Mark 1:35 - And in the early morning, while it was still dark, He arose and went out and departed to a lonely place, and was praying there.
3. Quiet Our Own Inner Being.
a. Write down thoughts of things to do later.
b. Release present tensions and anxieties to the Lord.
c. Focus on Jesus.
d. In becoming still, I am centered on this very present moment in time and I am asking the Holy Spirit’s help to experience Him in it.
e. As we remove the inner noise (voices, thoughts, pressures, even distractions of good things to do) these then become ideal times to hear from God.
The Value of Praying in the Gift of Tongues
1. Through the gift of praying in tongues, you are pulling out your spiritual antennas and thus receiving revelation from God. This is a huge key to prophetic intercession. As you pray in the Spirit the Holy Spirit grants you revelation.
2. 1 Corinthians 14:4 - One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.
3. Give yourself to this practice! The more you do it, the more revelation you will receive and the more effective your prayers will become.
RESPONDING TO THE BURDEN
From the Life of Isaiah - Isaiah 42:26
1. KJV - Put Me in remembrance, let us plead together, declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
2. NASB - Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together, state your case that you may be proved right.
3. TLB - Oh, remind Me of this promise of forgiveness, for we must talk about your sins. Plead your case for My forgiving you.
To plead is to argue a case or cause in a court of law; to entreat or appeal earnestly. Now take these prophetic promises and “remind God of His Word!”
From the Writer of Hebrews -God Presented as Judge
1. Read Hebrews 12:22-24
a. God as Judge of all
b. Jesus as the Mediator
c. Blood which speaks
2. Genesis 18:25 - Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
3. Judges 11:27 - ...the Lord the judge be Judge this day.
4. Isaiah 33:22 - ...for the Lord is our Judge.
From the Life of Amos – Amos 7:1-8
As you read this passage of Scripture, you will find the lessons of Amos responding to revelation with intercession. He is shown a series of judgments coming upon the land. He, in turn, cries out that these judgments be averted. His intercession cut off the judgments that he had previously seen and declared and God’s higher purposes come forth.
From the Life of Moses - Exodus 32:10-14
As you read this passage in Exodus, you will find that Moses made His righteous appeal on the basis of God’s covenant- glory - name or reputation. Will follow in suit and do the same? (See the lesson, Pleading Your Case in the Study Guide entitled, Watchmen on the Walls for details on this subject.)
CLOSING EXAMPLES AND CHALLENGE
From My Life’s History
1. I had a very powerful experience when praying with a small group of covenant brothers for intervention in the early 1990’s. The “prince of Persia”, who was attempting to prematurely escalate circumstances for a major war in the Persian Gulf, was temporarily bound after we prayed in the gift of tongues for 5 hours. Revelation was granted and crisis intervention occurred. Yes, a major war was averted to the glory of God! (Read The Prophetic Intercessor by James W. Goll for more detail on this subject.)
2. I also had a prayer engagement with others at Wall Street in New York City, where “a mercy-judgment” was released in response to hours of quiet waiting. A very specific dream had been granted and I prayed over it for days in advance. This prayer engagement included prophetic actions with amazing details that only the Holy Spirit can do. This too was a form of prophetic intercession. (Read God Encounters by James W. and Michal Ann Goll for more detail on this subject.)
3. I received a word from the Lord in the middle of the night while traveling on a train from middle Germany to southern Bravaria. In constant repetition, I heard the following words echoed into my being, “Where are my Josephs? Where are My Esthers? Where are My Daniels? Where are My Deborahs?” That word called deep into my inner being that long night and resonated with my soul.
Now I turn to you with that same word...
“Where are my Josephs? Where are My Esthers? Where are My Daniels? Where are My Deborahs?”
Such will be the prophetic intercessors for a last generation!
