Greetings to Each of You from Oasis of Hope!
Thanks for your prayers and support. It is day 8 of my 18 Days at the Oasis of Hope Hospital (www.oasisofhope.com). I am feeling stronger and am quite assured I am at the right place doing the right thing.
Michal Ann was with me for the first 3 days here in Mexico and Justin, our oldest son, has been here with me for the last couple of days. It is a great environment and the most amazing atmosphere - THANK YOU JESUS!
The following is something Michal Ann composed to help people understand the treatment I am undergoing.
James is undergoing a variety of treatments in phases - the first phase is to help detoxify the body. It is what they call a chelation therapy. This helps get rid of toxins, especially those from previous CT and PET scans. These types of toxins will not flush out of the body, unless they can bind with another molecular structure and be carried out of the body - and that is what this chelation provides. He is also doing chamomile and shark cartilage enemas. The reason for this is method of delivery is that it offers the greatest absorption rate. The chamomile helps with the gut and gas problems, and the shark cartilage is known to reduce blood vessel formation, and it has several other anti-cancer fighting properties.
He is also having what they call B17, or laetrile treatments - this is an amazing vitamin found in Strawberries, Cashews and Apricot Kernels. Basically, it releases to the cancer cells a cyanide, which of course helps destroy the cancer cells. To the normal cells, it does not release cyanide. It is because of something within the component of the cancer cells that the B17 reacts to which the normal cells do not produce. B17 is also very effective at being used as a preventative agent from cancer returning.
They have also started mega-doses of Vitamin C IV Therapy, which will greatly boost his immune system. Our bodies can handle a much greater amount of Vitamin C given by IV, than when taken orally. This is something that I have been doing for the past several months as well. James is also taking supplements - I am not sure which particular ones, but they will help increase and strengthen his immune system.
I'll be heading back down to Mexico the 9th of August, after our annual Women on the Frontlines Conference which takes place in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 3-5, 2006.
I know that James is in very good hands. I've never seen a medical institution so Godly in its foundation and care for the whole person! Two people have come to the Lord since James' arrival. A small group of us prayed for them during a chapel session which starts at every morning at 8 a.m. James emailed a couple of days after I left saying they both came to the Lord!
There are therapy sessions that help you with your mental attitudes and needs. The doctors make themselves very available, and will stop by your room to answer any question you may have. It is like a small community of people who really care, In addition James is receiving great tasting and very nutritional food in order to help rebuilding the body from the basics up. So he gets great sp ritual, mental and nutritional support while he is there and they follow up with him for the next 5 years! They call once a month to check in with you! How many doctors do you know that will do that; it is just very good place with very good people!
Justin, our oldest son who lives in southern california, is with James for a couple of days this week. Than our doctor and his wife from TN are planning to fly down next weekend to be with James and see Oasis Of Hope's facility. And then before you know it will be the 18th and we will be headed home.
Okay - so that was a great report form Michal Ann.
Please continue to pray that all cancer cells be wiped out. Pray that finances for EN for the entire 120 Days be covered. Pray for wisdom and revelation for the doctors and staff at Oasis. Pray for guidance and provision for the entire EN Staff and Team.
Thanks!
James at the Oasis of Hope
We will need to raise funds to cover our entire ministry operational budget for the next few months as well an additional $25,000 to cover the cost of the Oasis Hospital. To assist us financially, support should be given directly to Encounters Network and mailed to P. O. Box 1653, Franklin, TN 37065, or donations may be given online by clicking here. If you would like to give specifically to the Oasis program and my medical expenses, please select "Mercy Assistance Fund" from the drop down menu. All "General Donations" will go toward the ongoing operational expenses of Encounters Network.
Thank you once again for caring, loving, giving and praying. Together we shall conquer this in Christ Jesus. This enemy shall bow its knee at the name of Jesus and a great testimony shall be heard around the globe! Blessings to each of you!
