This past week we had the honor of participating in the National Day of Prayer for the Cherokee. It was a great time of worship and prayer with several tribes represented. Jay Swallow, Negiel Bigpond, John Benefiel, Clifton Petite, Cindy Jacobs, myself and others all participated.

Michal Ann was able to make the trip to Oklahoma and participate! Yea God! Watch for my prophetic teaching word coming soon on From Reconciliation to Restitution. In it I will give you a report from our time of outreach and prayer. So more on that later in the week!

But this week our PrayerStorm efforts will go in the direction of Crisis Intervention through Intercession. We will “Take A Stand for Life” this week by joining our prayers with the Bound4LIFE movement that takes a prayerful pro-life stand. Bound4LIFE is a grassroots prayer mobilization movement founded by Lou Engle targeting the ending of abortion, the increase of adoptions and the reformation of government and society through spiritual awakening. Their mission is to mobilize a groundswell of prayer throughout the body of Christ so that a culture of LIFE is established in our land.

Bound4LIFE was birthed in 2004 directly out of The Call.  Encounters Network has partnered closely with Lou Engle and The Call since before it began nearly a decade ago.  Matt Lockett is a Godly and gifted man who was placed as director of Bound4LIFE by Lou Engle in 2005, and we are excited to present today some timely prayer points from this "front lines" general. Again, our PrayerStorm efforts go into over 40 nations so far! So you take this week’s prayer thrust and adapt for your state, province or nation and Take a Stand for Life! Let’s believe for transformation to take place in all our nations!

SOUTH DAKOTA LEADS THE WAY...PART 2

I am writing to you today with extraordinary news. In 2006, South Dakota legislators successfully researched and passed a complete ban on abortion. However, Planned Parenthood and pro-abortion activists launched a signature campaign that forced the law onto the '06 ballot for a popular vote. The law was then overturned 45% to 55%. Significantly, nearly half of the state was willing to say that abortion is wrong without exception.

This year following extensive research and legal counsel, pro-life advocates in South Dakota have launched their own signature campaign for a ballot initiative for this Fall. The new law would restrict abortion from being used as birth control and, taking its cue from '06 voters, allows strict exceptions for rape, incest and the life-threatening health of the mother. This will essentially abolish over 98% of abortions. The remaining exceptions for rape and incest require the filing and investigation of sex crimes. No longer will Planned Parenthood be able to cover up crimes and destroy forensic evidence. These exceptions will be effective for stopping sex offenders.

Based on population, nearly 17,000 signatures are required to bring forth a ballot initiative for popular vote. I'm overjoyed to report to you that yesterday, April 1st, the Vote Yes for Life campaign successfully turned over 46,000+ valid signatures to the Secretary of State. Once again, South Dakota will lead the nation in setting a standard for life. What happens next could turn into a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade. Last month I was able to participate in what we called the "Urgency Tour" when the signature campaign was in a moment of crisis. Along with Pastor Steve Hickey of Sioux Falls, we traveled to 12 cities in 5 days meeting with nearly 200 pastors. The Church effectively mobilized in the weeks that followed with a deluge of signature gathering. This is cause for great rejoicing!

WHO'S WHO IN COLORADO

Now I'd like to draw your attention to a similar scenario that is taking place in Colorado. Our leadership team has been divinely led to connect with a campaign there to bring a "Human Life Amendment" to the '08 ballot for popular vote. This amendment to the state constitution would define personhood as beginning at fertilization. It drives a clear stake in the ground for when a person is entitled to "certain unalienable rights." Like Horton Hears a Who, it confronts us with the question, "When is a person a person?"

On May 13 the Colorado for Equal Rights campaign will need to turn in 76,000 valid signatures in order to bring this initiative to the ballot. Currently with just over five weeks left, the campaign has collected 40,000 signatures. This is, once again, a moment of great crisis. Yet there is great opportunity for the people of God to stand for truth, mobilize and make their voices heard. Colorado is profoundly significant. In 1967, it was the first state to decriminalize abortion when Governor Love signed it into law. Immediately, one third of the states followed Colorado's lead, which paved the way for Roe v. Wade to come up out of Dallas, TX. I believe that God wants to redeem the voice of Colorado on behalf of the nation. What if this is passed, and a flood of other states follow suit? This is a clear opportunity for the Church to embed Biblical values in the laws of the land and honor God.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (Jer 1:5)

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Ps 139:13-14)

April 11-13 I will be traveling to Colorado for a smaller version of the "Urgency Tour." Pray that it's larger! Watch the Bound4LIFE calendar for rapidly changing details of these meetings. Will you stand with us and take up the state of Colorado in prayer and fasting? The next few weeks will be critical for the Church to mobilize the final leg of the signature campaign.

PLEASE TAKE UP THE FOLLOWING PRAYER POINTS:

• Pray for open doors for the message of the Human Life Amendment to go forth.
  ( Col 4:2-4)
  
• Pray for Kristi Burton. She is the young author and spearhead of this amendment. Pray for her anointing, encouragement, provision and protection.
  
• Pray for unity of the Church of Colorado that they would take a stand for life.
  
• Pray for mass mobilization of signatures for the remaining weeks of the campaign
  (May 13 deadline).
  
• Pray that Bound4LIFE would accomplish all that God has for us in Colorado.

I believe what's happening in South Dakota and Colorado is a sign of things to come. Public opinion is changing. The spiritual stronghold of abortion is crumbling. The prayer movement is rising.
