Welcome to our Women on the Frontlines Devotional E-mail. For those of you new to our E-mail, our previous devotionals are available for further study and meditation on our web site in the archives section at www.MichalAnnGoll.com.

Well, it's been awhile since I've been able to get a devotional out. I had one almost finished about a month ago, but I just couldn't settle on it, and then I had our trip to Mozambique to prepare for. So sorry for keeping you waiting! I gave a report about our trip on our quarterly update message that is sent to our Network Sponsors and Network Prayer Warriors. I will share bits and pieces from our time there over the next few months. We had a wonderful trip. Many thanks to all those who prayed or financially gave into this trip! We couldn't have done it without you!

I also want to personally invite each of you to join our 8th Annual Women on the Frontlines Conference, August 4 – 6th at Faith Tabernacle in Florence, Alabama. This conference is one of yearly highlights. It will be the same this year. Makes plans to attend as it is A Time to Take Action – Together!

Many Blessings!

Michal Ann Goll

Scripture -

“For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father) Father! The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.” Romans 8: 15-16, Amplified Version

Devotional – “Don't Beg!"

I want to share a little piece of fresh bread from Africa. I took a team of 23 people, 20 women and 3 men to visit Rolland and Heidi Baker's ministry in Mozambique. Heidi and Rolland have several locations and feed over 2,000 people daily – mostly orphans. Now, Heidi has a strong love for these children and even though I referred to them as "orphans", that kind of language is not allowed on site. Heidi has gathered these children off the streets out of garbage dumps and brought them to her home. They have been given food to eat, clothes to wear and a bed to sleep in. They don't have to be alone any more. They get three meals a day and are carried, rocked, hugged, and loved by the missionaries living at the center. These children have ceased to be orphans. They have become adopted into the family of God. They are now called "children" and they call Heidi "Mama Ida".

But, just because they are no longer on the streets, doesn't mean that they immediately adopted new behaviors. Because they had grown up on the streets, they had learned to beg for survival. Heidi has had to teach them new behaviors and new understandings on life – like being loved unconditionally. One morning Heidi was teaching and she had to address this behavior. Some children were coming up to people at the center and begging. Heidi instructed us that if that happened we were to speak to them and tell them "don't beg". Heidi made the point that they have enough food to eat. Each meal is handed out in big portions, more than enough for most people. The issue was that they had learned to beg out of poverty, but now that their situation had changed their identity had to change too.

I wonder how different some of us are as compared to some of these children. Our Heavenly Father has given us wonderful spiritual food to eat. He has adopted us, brought us into His House, clothed us with robes of royalty and has called us His sons and daughters. And yet when we come to Him we beg for scraps and crumbs from His table like we have to convince Him to do something for us. I think we need to help each other in love. We need to be reminded just like those children, "Don't beg!" He has given us authority, sonship and favor! He loves us and has made full provision for any need that could possibly arise! It was His pleasure to do so, because that's the heart of our precious Father God!

So let this little word go deep inside your heart! Throw off those old orphan mindsets and ways of "making do". The Father's House is your house. It's your house! Remind yourself that you are not an orphan any longer. You have been adopted by the best Daddy of them all!

Many Blessings!

Michal Ann

“What a father says to his children is not heard by the world, but it will be heard by posterity.”

~Jean Paul Richter

Prayer –

Dear Papa God,

Thank you so much for coming to us, searching till You found us, and making Your house big enough so we could come live with You. Thank you for loving us in the midst of our fears and insecurities. Lord, forgive us for wanting to hang on to our "junk" because we're afraid that might be all we might get. Papa, would you come and deliver us, your children, from the rags of the orphan spirit. I ask for a spirit of revelation to come on each one of us – the revelation of sonship, of belonging to You. Papa, "Happy Father's Day"! May we bless You today as we rise up into our divine inheritance!

In Jesus’ Name – Amen

Applications –

Pray about this issue. Ask the Holy Spirit to point out places where you might be suffering from an orphan mind set and ask for His help to let it go. Take authority over these ungodly mindsets and call for God's Fatherhood to be established in your life.

If you have been helped today through this devotional, consider printing out 5 copies to give to people who don’t have e-mail capacity, perhaps to some of our elderly brothers and sisters in Christ.

Be blessed and encouraged this day!
