May Compassion Acts Update

By Mark Roye
Dreamer’s Park - Cambodia is Complete!
M. Roye

As I write this update, Mike Lynch and I have just returned from Poi Pet, Cambodia where we have completed the building of Dreamer’s Park - Cambodia. There is no way I can begin to tell you all that we have seen God do in Poi Pet.

Our Dreamer’s Park “Build Team” arrived in Cambodia on May 7th with a heart to go to work. I am always amazed to see how God brings people from all over - and in a short time, takes them from being strangers to becoming a family. Each day, we began our day at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast and then we

were off to work out on the campus of Safe Haven. On our trip to Poi Pet in March we were able contract local workers to build a covering and get all the structure poles set so we could begin building as soon as we arrived. Thankfully, the pre-construction was complete and we found that all our previously ordered building materials were delivered and ready on the jobsite. By the end of the first week, we were able to complete 90% of the project. It was so much fun to see everyone work together and use their gifts to see Dreamer’s Park become a reality!

Each day, as we built the playground, there were over 140 children watching with anticipation as we added swings, a climbing wall, monkey bars, a slide, and benches. On the day we put up the swings, the children began to gather and looked at them with curiosity - it was evident that many of them had never see a swing before! We began to invite the children to come swing. Slowly, one by one they came to swing and the smiles began to come. The children - on their own initiative - were so patient and made sure everyone had a chance to have time to use the swings.

Dreamer’s Park - Cambodia is the largest playground in the city of Poi Pet. So on Saturday, before the team left to go back to the USA, we had an awesome time of dedication with leaders from Cambodia Hope Organization, XP’s mission team, and other local leaders. A group of the children that live on the campus of Safe Haven had also prepared three songs to share with us. Their songs were my favorite part about the dedication because this project is all about the children. The mission of Dreamer’s Park is to empower children to dream.  In a country that has experienced so much destruction and pain, Dreamer’s Park is a prophetic statement to the children of Cambodia.

We were also honored to be able to be able to honor the legacy of my beloved sister and co-worker, Michal Ann Goll. At the dedication, I shared of her love and passion for children and women-at-risk.  Mike and I both had tears as we remembered her love and joy in sharing the Kingdom of God’s love with people all over the world. I know she was smiling from heaven and was happy to see yet another Dreamer’s Park built to honor God and share His love with the children of Cambodia.

I want to thank everyone who prayed and gave money to see this project accomplished! There is no way we could have built Dreamer’s Park without partners who care for the children of Cambodia. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

With a grateful heart,

Mark Roye

Click to Play: Compassion: The Necessary Ingredient – By James W. Goll

James W. Goll

James brings us a solid Biblical teaching that was used to help write the book Compassion - A Call to Take Action. Jesus was motivated by compassion and great results came forth. You too can add "The Necessary Ingredient" to your own life. Compassion changes your life and brings you into a lifestyle that is more like Jesus!

Prayer Storm

Global Outreach Day
With James W. Goll

This week in our Prayer Storm efforts, we will join in the follow-up to last week’s Global Day of Prayer and get behind Global Outreach Day on Saturday, June 2, 2012. This is getting exciting – going forth with words and actions that match our faith! What an awesome and simple concept: A “global outreach day” – or even week – of acts of kindness done in the name of Jesus to help evangelize the world around you.

Many churches, networks and organizations around the world are working together with G.O.D. to help accomplish the goal of reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. David Yonggi Cho, E.A. Adeboye, Rick Warren, Loren Cunningham, Reinhard Bonnke, Marc Anderson, Paul Eshleman, Peter Wenz, Walter Heidenreich, Graham Power, George Verwer, Cindy Jacobs, Ana Paula, Matthew Kuruvilla, John Dawson, Myles Munrow and Dr. Niko are among the leaders across all continents that are supporting this cause for Christ and spreading the Gospel. Encounters Network is also endorsing the Global Outreach Day.

On this day millions of Christians will proclaim the Gospel everywhere on earth. Mobilize your church to win people for Christ on this particular day. You are free to do it the way you want. Give it your personal style!

The vision
The vision of the Global Outreach Day is to build up a network of Christians worldwide, equipping and mobilizing them to share the Gospel to over 200 nations in a single day.

It's your harvest!
The purpose of the Global Outreach Day is not just to have another vision for us to follow. It's about individual people and individual churches. It's about every single Christian standing up and reaching others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

It's easy!
Everyone can be a part of it. You don't need money. All you need is a willingness to go. And everyone can do it in their own way. Whether you go to hospitals, prisons or to the streets – you can use the Global Outreach Day to spread the Gospel. You could even invite people into your home and tell them about Jesus over dinner.

It's only the beginning
The Global Outreach Day won't only be a special day for those people who give their lives to Christ. It could be the beginning of a new missionary lifestyle for every single person who is involved. This one day could start a wave of evangelism across the world, and you can be a part of this historical day!

As usual, please take this Prayer Storm theme and adjust it to your own ministry, city and nation. But let’s add prayer behind the scenes that Christians worldwide will be emboldened to go forth and proclaim the Gospel on this day. Remember, before you talk to your neighbor about God, talk to God about your neighbor!

Understanding the Call to the Secret Place
By Michal Ann and James W. Goll
4 CD Message set - $20 or 4 MP3 Message set – $12

This four message set from Michal Ann and James is a stirring complement to the book "A Call to the Secret Place", as they teach, through their own experiences, stories and through the lives of others, how to find the secret place in God.

In this series, Michal Ann bears her heart through her research and depth of relationship in God. She highlights the life of Madame Jean Guyon and weaves testimonies from her own life. Up Against the Wall came from Micah Ann's observation of how a swallow built a nest for her young on the wall of the barn. The sincerity will alter your life. James takes you on a journey through the life of Teresa of Avila bringing forth jewels of the secret place.

The titles include:

  • The Depths of God by Michal Ann Goll
  • Madame Jean Guyon by Michal Ann Goll
  • Journey into the Castle by James W. Goll
  • Up Against the Wall by Michal Ann Goll

Unmasking Ungodly Beliefs – By Michal Ann Goll
2 CD Messages – $14

In this two message set, Michal Ann demystifies spiritual warfare, making it accessible and understandable in everyday terms. She lived a lifestyle of "taking every thought captive to Christ Jesus". This wisdom-filled exhortation will help to align your heart, thoughts and speech with God's truth.
