Praise the Lord! I got home from His Place Wellness Center in Germany, on Tuesday night! I hope you heard my Good News!  Tests show I am 80% healed of the Epstein-Barr virus! This is amazing! The culture that created the lymphatic cancer, chronic fatigue and other issues is leaving my body! I now begin a two-month regimen of building up my immune system thru IV treatments of minerals to replenish my body. I am regaining my strength!

The FIRE ON THE ALTAR International Prayer Storm Convocation is this week in Harrisburg, PA, and you can still register on-site. The evening meetings are OPEN to the public and the entire gathering will be available on LIVE WEB CAST! We will also have an all night BURN Friday at 10 PM till Saturday at 10 AM that is “Open to the Public” carrying the Prayer Storm themes through out the night!

Last week’s video of Mark Roye's Vision Cast for Compassion Acts is available for viewing at www.compassionacts.com.  Sorry if some of you attempted to watch it and were not able to. The glitches have been fixed in the system, and you can click here to watch his wonderful message without hindrance. You can also still contribute to Anchor of Hope which will be used to fund our many on going projects including assistance to the Robinsons for their son Michael’s housing.

We have a new Holiday Resource Special for the months of November and December – BUNDLES OF JOY. All our already discounted “bundles of books and study guides” are an additional $5 off. These make great presents and at a tremendous savings to you!

So, join us in prayer this week. Watch the Fire on the Altar Conference on the web, listen to my MP3 audio message, watch the video and the new Sounds of Worship section featuring Sean Feucht. Then, share this on to others!

Spirit-Empowered Prayer Storm

By James W. Goll

“I have heard you,” replied Jeremiah the prophet. “I will certainly pray to the Lord your God as you have requested; I will tell you everything the Lord says and will keep nothing back from you.” (Jer. 42:4, NIV)

What Is Spirit-Empowered Prayer?

  1. Letting the Holy Spirit Lead.

    1. (Romans 8:14, NASB) All who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.
    2. As in a waltz or dance, you let the other take the lead and gently nudge you in the direction you are to go.

  2. Letting the Holy Spirit Empower.
In Spirit-empowered prayer, the Holy Spirit will light upon you and give you power as it was on the day of Pentecost (see Acts 2). It’s like getting a booster to your rocket. Your prayers will hit the target.

The Power of Prophetic Intercession

  1. A. Prophetic Intercession: Prophet and Priest brought Together.

    1. Priest: pleads the needs of the people to the Lord.
    2. Prophet: pleads the interests of God before the people.
    3. Authentic prophetic intercession: priest and prophet unite in their graces and burdens.

  2. Prophetic Intercession Pleads the Promises.

    1. As you arise in worship and are seated with Christ Jesus in the heavenly places, you are not just praying to God but rather having come into agreement with His heart, you are now praying with God.
    2. In revelatory prayer, you pave the way for the fulfillment of the prophetic promise that has been revealed previously.
    3. In prophetic intercession, the Spirit of God pleads, through the believer, the covenant promises of God that have been made to His people throughout history. Every unfulfilled promise is to be pleaded by the Spirit-empowered believer before the throne.
    4. Revelatory prayer or prophetic intercession is an urging from the Holy Spirit to pray for situations or circumstances about which you have very little knowledge in the natural.

      1. You pray for the prayer requests that are on the heart of God.
      2. The Spirit nudges you to pray so that He can intervene.
      3. God will direct you to pray to bring forth His will on the earth as it is in heaven.

  3. The “Anna Company” (See Luke 2:36–38).
Anna’s primary prophetic ministry was her life of prayer, which helped prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah. As it was in the first coming of Jesus, so it will be before the second coming—gifted, consecrated, prophetic intercessors will lay hold of the purposes of God.

  4. Prophetic Intercession = Conspiring.
The word conspire means “to breathe together.” When God created man from the dust of the earth, He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being (see Gen. 2:7). This Hebrew word that we translate “breathed” can mean to breathe violently, such as when the violent, rushing wind filled the upper room on the day of Pentecost. Prophetic intercession is our conspiring with God, breathing violently into situations through prayer in order to bring forth life.

Forms of Spirit-Inspired Prayer

  1. Praying in the Spirit through the Gift of Tongues.
Praying with the gift of tongues is one of the foremost form of Spirit-inspired prayer.

    1. Praying in the Spirit is your spirit communicating directly with God. It’s called a “prayer language.” (1 Corinthians 14:2, NIV) For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.
    2. Praying in the Spirit is a perfect prayer.

      1. (Romans 8:26–28, NIV) [T]he Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
      2. (1 Corinthians 14:14, AMP) For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].
      3. Since you do not always know how or what to pray in a given situation, you can bring the need before the Lord by praying in the Spirit.
      4. Praying in the Spirit is the means by which the Spirit intercedes through your spirit.

    3. Praying in the Spirit edifies the person praying.

      1. As you use your prayer language consistently, you become built up, strengthened, and encouraged.
      2. (1 Corinthians 14:4a, NASB) One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.
      3. (Jude 20, NIV) But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.

    4. Praying in the Spirit has the authority of heaven behind it.

      1. You cannot know in the natural when satan and his demonic forces will launch an attack, but the Holy Spirit will keep you on the alert and prompt you at the opportune time.
      2. (James 5:16b, NASB) The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
      3. (1 Corinthians 14:15, NASB) I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also.
      4. Like Paul, you can pray and worship in the Spirit. The weapon of perfect prayer and praise is powerful and always on target.

The Prayer of Groaning and Travail

  1. A. Intense, Fervent Praying.

    1. (James 5:17–18, NASB) Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
    2. Fervency—to pray with purpose and serious intention. The word “fervent” comes from the Latin word for “to boil hot.”
    3. To pray earnestly means that one’s entire being is engaged in prayer.

  2. Jesus, our example in Fervent Praying.

    1. (Hebrews 5:7a, AMP) In the days of His flesh [Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions...and supplications with strong crying and tears.
    2. “Strong crying and tears,” especially the Greek term for it, gives the idea that He cried out loudly in prayer, even shouting and screaming. It was the sound of the battlefield, a struggle of life and death. In no way was it timid or restrained.

  3. Laboring in Prayer through Travail and Groaning (see Romans 8:26–27).

    1. The prayer of travail.

      1. The prayer of travail is an expression of God desiring to create an opening to bring forth a measure of life or growth, just as the opening of a womb is enlarged to bring forth a baby. If the “opening” were already in place, there would be no need to travail.
      2. (Isaiah 42:13–14, AMP) The Lord will go forth like a mighty man, He will rouse up His zealous indignation and vengeance like a warrior; He will cry, yes, He will shout aloud, He will do mightily against His enemies. [Thus says the Lord] I have for a long time held My peace, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry out like a woman in travail, I will gasp and pant together.

    2. The prayer of groaning.

      1. Groaning brings deliverance from within and pushes back the pressures of darkness from without. Within each of us are walls of resistance that we cannot see or get free of. This kind of prayer bypasses our understanding and allows the Holy Spirit to move us into the purposes of God.
      2. The prayer of groaning originates deep within our spirits. It is deep calling unto deep. It brings release from the graveclothes of dead works, stripping us so that we might be re-clothed by the Spirit of God. We long for even a foretaste of things to come, and we want to be prepared: For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven (2 Corinthians 5:2, NASB).

Summary of Spirit Empowered Prayer:

Travail takes time. You have to be tenacious. Never give up. You go through stretches when you are not crying out. In fact, nothing seems to be happening. It’s like being a watchman on a wall when nothing is happening. But you stay there. You don’t abandon your post. You keep alert. You don’t flag in your attention. You persevere. You need to be ready if the Holy Spirit is ready.

When you undertake Spirit-empowered prayer, you operate with a watchman’s anointing. You watch to see things in the Spirit. What is the enemy up to? What does God want to do about it? You take the keys of the kingdom in your hand and you bind up the darkness. You welcome the Spirit of the Lord’s presence. You are vigilant and determined. You communicate with your fellow watchers. Together, you maintain the watch of the Lord!

Romans tells us we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that the Holy Spirit will pray through us with sighs and groans too deep for the articulation of natural speech according to the will of God. James looks at these verses and gives us insight from years in the trenches of prophetic intercession.. You will want to read the book The Prophetic Intercessor, get the corresponding Study Guide and listen to the other messages that relate to this series. Yes, the Holy Spirit will help you in your intercession!

Prayer Storm

Praying for The G-20 in France
By James W. Goll

product product

This week we will carry two themes in our Global Prayer Storm. We will pray for the blessing, presence and provision of the Lord upon the Fire on the Altar Conference. Join with me the FIRE of the Lord will fall, and will spread to the nations!

Second, we will also pray for the wisdom of God to invade the crucial G-20 Gathering this week in France. Here is a summary of the history of the G-20 from Wikipedia.

The Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (G20) is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 major economies: 19 countries plus the European Union, which is represented by the President of the European Council and by the European Central Bank.[3] Their heads of government or heads of state have also periodically conferred at summits since their initial meeting in 2008. Collectively, the G-20 economies comprise more than 80 percent of the world's GDP, 85 percent[4] of global gross national product, 80 percent of world trade (including EU intra-trade) and two-thirds of the world population.[3] They contribute to 84.1 percent and 82.2 percent of the world's economic growth by nominal GDP and GDP (PPP) respectively from the years 2010 to 2016 according to International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The G-20 was proposed by former Canadian Finance Minister Paul Martin[5] (later, Prime Minister) for cooperation and consultation on matters pertaining to the international financial system. It studies, reviews, and promotes discussion (among key industrial and emerging market countries) of policy issues pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability, and seeks to address issues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization. With the G-20 growing in stature since the 2008 Washington summit, its leaders announced on September 25, 2009, that the group will replace the G8 as the main economic council of wealthy nations.[6]

The heads of the G-20 nations have met semi-annually at G-20 summits since 2008. G-20 summits will be held annually.[3]

The next gathering of the G-20 nations is this week in France. So let’s pray that the Kingdom of God invades this gathering and wisdom prevails.

Blessings to You as You Stand on the Walls!

As Goll states, "Each time you treat someone with love, exercise a spiritual gift, surrender to the lordship of Jesus, seek guidance from God - not to mention each time you pray for (and receive) a miracle or achieve a victory over the power of darkness - you are living the supernatural life that Jesus won for you."
