I’m sure you’ve also heard the news of the devastating floods taking place across the northern U.S., particularly in North Dakota. Through our contacts, we have identified some areas where we can give and serve in this region. One of our trusted partners, Jodie Nelson Chiricosta, whom we’ve worked with over ten years now, sent the e-mail below, which further explains the needs in the region affected by the floods.

Dear Mark,

We have identified 3 Native American Reservations in North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana that were affected by the flooding. We’ve received a request to fund four trucks to take donated furniture to the reservations to help the familie saffected. We have $8,000 towards the trucking but need $4,000 more to cover all four loads. Would Compassion Acts or Blood 'n Fire be interested in partnering with us on this?

Blood 'n Fire Summer Ministry in San Antonio

As many of you know (or may not know!) my wife Susie and I are founders of an inner city ministry, Blood 'n Fire San Antonio (www.bnfsa.org). Our summers are packed full of activity as week after week youth groups come to town ready to work with us in the inner-city. By the end of summer, we will have logged over 12,000 volunteer hours with several hundred young people who are serving and loving the children and elderly in our community. All summer long we’ve provided an awesome inner city camp for our neighborhood children averaging over 60 in attendance each week for three weeks. We have also done work projects painting, building fences, various other construction projects and cleaning up our community. Without the partnership of churches both locally and from other cities in Texas, we would not be able to do all we have accomplished. When we partner with others, more always gets done. That principle will always will be a foundational truth upon which we build and operate, both in Compassion Acts and Blood 'n Fire San Antonio. We love to partner with others in Kingdom work. We do that all over the world, and love seeing the difference we can all make when we choose to partner together in effort to love and serve others.

I want to encourage you to do the same. Find someone or some ministry where you can help serve - where you can be the hands and feet of Jesus. There are countless numbers of people that need to see and feel the love of God.

Join us as we seek to be, and choose to be, a conduit of His Love to the world around us. We love... we serve.
